Time is of the Essence
A couple consistent themes I have been studying about and praying through as God is guiding me is, “Time is of The Essence” and “It’s okay to play.”
As a Type A….. woman who has always put a lot of stock in tasks being checked off each day, I’m being stretched in ways I can’t complain about. I’m being stretched to play!
I’m being stretched and convicted to rest and enjoy the journey.
Don’t get me wrong… I am 100%sure that Jesus is coming back soon and that I am called to shout from the rooftops daily, “Be Reconciled to Christ!”
But, lately the kindness and mercy and grace of Jesus has been wooing me to stop being so “worky” (I made that word up!) and…. Play a little.
Yall, rest and play is so important! I learned that from my kids and grands.
I think… we grow our faith and we become childlike in our faith (which is what Jesus wants us to be) when we remember how to play.
Truthfully, playing make believe with my grands is my favorite thing. We pretend to be pirates, police officers, bus drivers (as we drive the golf cart all over the farm) and whatever other fun thing comes to mind at the time.
It’s through playtime that I’ve been able to have amazing conversations with them about God’s love.
Oh y’all, we grown ups have so much to learn from kids. They know how to drink of living water! They embrace fun. They believe so easily. They are who the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to.
Today…. What will you do that’s fun?
Take it from an old workaholic.
We need to remember how to play. It’s okay to play.
Drink of the well that will never run dry. Jesus is Living Water! He quenches our thirsty lives.
