Purposeful Living

The older I get the more decisions I make based on the theme, “What is the purpose in this?”

The Psalm 90:12 reminds us to number our days. “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
‭‭
I guess, what I thought of this morning is, “Time is precious, what are we doing with each moment?”

When we realize how precious life is and how limited our time here is, hopefully we become people of purpose. Truthfully each moment is either purposed or lost.
I have tried to number my days with work, with family, with time with loved ones. I’m even trying to be purposeful with exercise, chores and every thing that goes in my mouth.
Did God make it?
Or did man?

Will this help me be my best today or is this sugar rush going to make me want to nap in 30 minutes?

Y’all, after menopause, women lose a lot of the get -out -of jail free cards with health. No more easy -peasy metabolism boosts our body gives us to just fight off that whole sleeve of Oreos we ate after dinner.

Just like we tell our teens that don’t always make the best choices, it’s time to tell ourselves,
“It’s time to grow up!”
So, I’m thinking about my foods.
Is this glorifying God with my body?

My body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit. So, am I treating it like a temple or a burger joint?
This morning I had a choice to make. I wanted pancakes.

The old Mo would have just whipped them up and poured on the butter and syrup and worked it off in the heat today doing chores. But, with age should come some wisdom right? Wisdom isn’t just something we attain so we can pursue great careers, make money and look successful in the world’s eyes. Wisdom is for every decision in life.

Are we purposeful in every decision in life from what to wear, what to eat, how to raise our kids, protect our marriages and what to say in tough situations and conversations?
If every moment is precious and our days here on Earth are truly numbered, then even how we make our pancakes matters.?

So, I whipped up some blueberry, raspberry, collagen and protein powder, pancakes and I lathered them with greek yogurt instead of whipped cream and syrup.
The results…. were amazing.
Tommy Mydlo goes, “What’s in these? They are awesome!”
I said “Purpose!”
Number your days.
Life is precious and there is an expiration date on our bodies, and our lives, so for goodness sakes, throw some collagen in there.
