Keep Calm, You are Kept By God

This morning I heard God say, look up scriptures about being “kept” by God. 

I did so, and wow…. Such amazing peaceful scriptures to meditate on. 

Scriptures like, 

“who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.”

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:5‬ 

And…

“My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.”

‭‭John‬ ‭10:29‬ 

And….

“neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:39‬ ‬‬

And….

“To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—”

‭‭Jude‬ ‭1:24‬‬‬

One comforting scripture after another. 

Then I looked up the word “kept” 

In the dictionary and what it meant to be a “kept woman.”

My heart did what it always does when I realize how the enemy Satan works to try to distort all the good that God created. 

I wasn’t surprised.

Being a kept woman isn’t a great phrase in everyday life as it represents an adulterous relationship. 

But, truthfully we are supposed to be a people kept by God for His plans, His purposes, His peace, His joy, His love. 

 But… too often we settle for the cheap substitutes of life to fill our empty souls. 

Truthfully God has amazing and beyond perfect plans for us when we follow Him. 

But, this world always tries to counterfeit, other plans for us to take part in.

The whole book of Hosea speaks of us as an adulterous people. We have left our beautiful Husband Jesus and we have become enamored with the love of money, things, likes and followers. 

Yuck and yuck. 

Ladies and Gentleman. 

Return to your First Love Jesus. 

His arms are ready to hold you. He’s waiting to cover you and protect you. 

Return to your Fortress oh Prisoners of Hope. 

Keep Calm 

You are Kept by God.
