Try New Things And Don’t Give Up

I guess you can say I still get amazed every time I bring in food from the garden or the freezer from an animal we raised for food. 

I know some of you who really know me, know this can only be God. I couldn’t keep a houseplant alive to save my life. It’s only been in the past 5 years that God has taught me how to work on His farm. 

I say His farm because it is! It’s His animals, His ground, His water, His seed. The Word says “Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭9:10‬ ‭God supplies the seed and He makes things grow we simply have to work for Him. 

Today I’ll make a pork roast with veggies in my Dutch oven. I may be doing the cooking but God made my pigs and veggies grow and He made them all taste so good with herbs He provided for me to cook with. 

I’ll make mulberry and peach cobbler with the fruit from the trees He shed His sunshine and rain on and created the magic of poop turning to compost that makes our gardens so happy. 

I’ll eat my sandwich at lunch from a brocolli wrap that He made full of vitamins and minerals so I could heal and be protected from anything this imperfect flesh and world tries put on me. 

When we eat, do we even think about these things? I didn’t when I bought all my food from a store. But, now my sweat equity makes me appreciate every savory taste, nutritional benefit and lovely aroma. 

God truly does miracles for those who believe He can. 

I asked God for two things almost 10 years ago. 

I asked Him to help me be a better encourager of my husband and to help me learn how to garden. 

He answered both prayers with grace. Grace to help me in my weaknesses and Grace to give me the ability to press on when i fail!!! Press on through losses and triumphs. He’s the God of the seed, and He’s the God of the Harvest. I thank God for Who He Is! Our Provider!

I am so thankful to be heading in the house to start cooking.
