The other morning I woke up with this old country song spinning over and over in my head. I couldn’t even remember hearing it, but I do love some old country when I’m doing chores around the house.
The words aren’t that great and it really was bothering me that I couldn’t get it to turn off in my head for hours.
Then last night….
Tommy and Eli went to a boxing match with our friend Mario Deniz so I had a whole evening to fill so I decided to spend it with my best friend Jesus.
I turned on country gospel on the YouTube and I painted and vacuumed and did laundry and took a walk, all while filling up my Spirit in song. As I showered and put on my jammies I listened to Genesis being read on the Bible App. I just kept talking to Jesus about everything all night.
It was wonderful. Tommy Mydlo got home pretty late and by the time he arrived I had already slept a few hours so my body wanted to wake up. As I layed there trying to go back to sleep, different songs were playing in my Spirit. “Thank you Lord for Your Blessings On Me” was on a loop in my mind.
It made me smile as I laid there and hummed myself back to sleep.
What are we putting in our soul each day? My friend Elizabeth always says, “Garbage in, garbage out. Good things in, good things out.”
How about today, turn off the news, turn off the social media, turn off the world and turn on some truth?
It’s a lovely change and your soul will get a true Sabbath!
